Girdwood and Swimming

We took Brookelynn to Girdwood this weekend to visit G-Ma and G-Pa Sherwood, but much to our delight G-Ma and G-Pa James decided to come down to Girdwood as well and stay at the hotel, so we were able to enjoy Brookelynn's first time swimming in a pool. She didn't really like it at first and had a very grumpy face, but after a bit she cheered up, until I dunked her under the water, then she got frumpy again and really cold! But I think we are going to try keep going swimming, so she gets used to it, it was a really fun family outing. We were so happy both sets of Grandparents and her cousins Kale and Reese were able to experience her first swimming trip! We are so blessed to have so many family members around.

Just in case you are wondering how Kaitlin is doing, I was able to talk to her Grandma today and she gave me an update. Kaitlin has been shipped down to the Childrens' Hospital in Seattle, WA. She is able to walk on her tippy toes with both legs, but when they performed a hearing test they discovered she has no hearing in her right ear and do not know if she will regain it. I will keep you all updated as much as I can.

Fusssy Butt

So, Brookelynn is growing big and strong and with that she is getting more and more of a personality. She seems to be starting the teething process, drooling more, whining more, and always wants to be sucking on something. We have discovered though, that she loves her car seat, so when she gets uncontrollable we'll strap her into her seat and take her on a drive. Which is what I just did, I didn't even make it into the car and she was already asleep. The magic of a car seat and a pacifier are awesome! So now I am back home and am enjoying some quiet time until she decides to wake up again.

Kaitlin Update

Kaitlin is doing really well. Yesterday when I went for my visit she was saying words and trying to put sentences together, it was awesome! She is doing well eating her food and smiling a lot more. I brought by Brookelynn again to see her and she was bale to give her big hugs and cuddle her a little bit. Kaitlin impresses me every time I get to see her! Keep up your warm thoughts and keep sending your love!

Kaitlin Sherwood

Some of you may have heard already, but for those of you who don't know, my 4 year old cousin Katilin had a stroke due to a blood clot on Sunday 10/10/10. She is in recovery and is doing well. She is the strongest person I know and her strength is shown more and more everyday. She makes progress in her recovery everyday. I have had the joy of spending time with her and her sister Maddy Joe a lot over this past couple years and recently we did Taco night at Aunt Lori's house (Saturday 10/9/10), here are some pictures of that day and a couple more from the that week before and after.

We thank you all for your love and support, her entire family appreciates it!

SHOTS!

Well, Brookelynn had her two month shots on Wednesday (her 2 month Birthday). She did really well, she only squealed a tiny bit, but squealed three times (once for each shot). That night though, she started to get fussy and had a bit of a temperature. The following day she had a slight temperature all day long (Tylenol was our friend). This morning she was doing better, and I hope she will continue to do better from now on. I decided to get my annual flu shot at the same time, but after not having one in about 10 years...I remember why I don't get them, and I don't know that I will be getting anymore...MY ARM HURTS! It has been 3 days and it is still hurting, I even have a bruise where I got it, no more shots for me I am NOT a fan.

The good news, Brookelynn is in the tenth percentile for her height, weight, and head circumference. She is 21 1/2 inches long, 9 pounds 1 ounce and her head is 14 1/2 (inches or centimeters...I forget). But, she is finally on the chart for everything, she has been so small that she wasn't even registering on the chart until now...so she is a growing and healthy little baby girl!

She loves to play on the floor now. By play I mean, lay on the floor and stare out into space, kicking her legs and listening to her own voice. She smiles all the time and will follow you with her eyes and head if you walk by her, she is so smart and such a delight to be around, she just brightens our day everyday!

I will post some more pictures soon, but I haven't downloaded them yet and I need to get some better ones, I will work on that this weekend!

Thanks for checking in!
