Updates
We are now into week three with Brookelynn! She has gained weight and is now 6 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long! Our baby is growing! She has got a great personality and is pretty easy going so far, except when she gets gassy, then she is fussy, but other than that we haven't had too many screaming fits. I have to go to work on the 1st of September for a full day of work and mom has agreed to come watch Brookelynn unt usil one of gets off work. I am so not looking forward to going to work, it is going to be very hard to leave Brookelynn, maybe we should do a test run before then?
I am working on getting announcements made and sent out to everyone, so be on the lookout for those in the near future, but until then, thank you all for your well wishes and congratulations, we are very proud parents! She is the best thing that has ever happened to us and I cannot wait for you to meet her!
I will post more soon, but I have to go pick up Brookelynn now!

Updates and Stories of Labor
Well, as of now all you have seen are pictures of our little, tiny, beautiful daughter Brookelynn. Here is the storey of her birth:
I had been having high blood pressure for the past 3 weeks leading up to Brookelynn's delivery, it was what they called a "rolling" blood pressure, so it would be high one minute and back to normal the next. So we were going into the hospital to have frequent stress tests done on the baby (twice a week), and going to my regular doctor once a week. The baby was looking good, but the last doctors appoinment we had (Wednesday July 28th), my blood pressure was back up and I was really swollen, so my doctor said we needed to go to the hospital and get ready to have the baby in the next couple days. I wasn't dialated or efaced at all so the first 12 hours were just a waiting game, waiting for her to drop and for labor to begin. I started feeling contractions toward the end of the 12 hour time period, they were pretty regular and pretty strong. I then at about 2:00am on July 29th got put on the drug that puts you into labor, contractions were coming very regular and strong. I eventually got an epidural and my pain subsided a little, but I certian ways I was laying I could feel all contractions on my right side. So I switched back to the better side and the pain subsided again. All the sudden it was 3:00pm and I was finally making some progress, I was at 4cm! They told me that I would progress about a centimeter an hour. They said the doctor will be here at about 4:00 and she is going to check you again. The doctor was stalling and came at about 5:00pm, she told us she was stalling on purpose, hoping to give us good news of progression. Well, she did give us good news, we were at 10cm! It was time to push, but we needed to be prepared that the cord was wrapped around the baby, possibly around her neck and that her heart rate had been dropping on and off. If I wasn't able to push her out in a few pushes, we were going to have to have an emergency c-section. Well, I was able to pusht her out in 3 contractions, just about 5 minutes of pushing, no c-section needed!
We then welcomed a beautiful baby girl 5 lbs, 11 oz... 18 inches long!! It was amazing, Chris was able to cut her cord and be with her during all the initial poking and prauding! She let out a few big cries right away, much to my delight!
Enjoy the pictures, we will have much more to tell soon, but until then, she is doing well and we look forward to a lifetime with our beautiful daughter!
